RAESP (Client – Department of Housing and Works: Timeframe January 2005 – June 2008): Nyaarla Projects is part of a consortium that Program Manages the Remote Area Essential Services Program (RAESP) throughout Western Australia. The RAESP program provides a power, water and sewage repairs and maintenance service to over 90 Aboriginal communities throughout Western Australia and a power, water and sewage capital works program to Aboriginal communities throughout Western Australia.
Nyaarla Projects manages the training and employment, consultation and land related elements of this program. This includes developing and delivering a long-term training and employment strategy for the program via a consultative process with key stakeholders. The training and employment element of the RAESP program includes over 30 indigenous Essential Services Operators in remote communities throughout Western Australia and the development of initiatives that promote and foster indigenous training and employment via the capital works program.

Provision of Cross-Cultural Awareness Training Workshop (Client: Natural Heritage Trust: Timeframe 19-21 June 2007): Nyaarla Projects was engaged by the Natural Heritage Trust to provide cross-cultural training to 15 people involved in Natural Resource Management across the Rangelands region of Western Australia. The training was provided in Carnarvon, Western Australia.
Building Capacity Through Training and Employment Workshop (Client: Liquid Learning: Timeframe 7 April 2006): Nyaarla Projects ran two half day workshops in Brisbane exploring the link between training and employment and when coordinated effectively, how this can build the capacity of both the organisation and the individual. The workshops included interactive presentations, case studies and small group exercises.
Provision of Professional Development Training (Client: Dept of the Attorney General: Timeframe Mar – Sept 2006): In March and September 2006, Nyaarla Projects in association with Learning Conversations provided two workshops to Indigenous staff within the Department of Justice (1) “How to write a winning job application” and (2) “Effective Oral Communication”.
NAHS (Client – ATSIC: Timeframe Dec 2000 – June 2004): Nyaarla Projects via Parsons Brinckerhoff provided the training and employment, consultation and land management aspects of the National Aboriginal Health Strategy (NAHS) throughout Western Australia and South Australia. The NAHS program provided housing, water, power, sewage and roads capital infrastructure facilities to Aboriginal communities throughout Western Australia and South Australia.
During the delivery of this program Nyaarla Projects developed and delivered a WA NAHS training and employment strategy that resulted in over 60 Aboriginal traineeships in Western Australia and South Australia. Including a project at Mardiwah Loop, near Halls Creek in the Kimberley region, that won the 2002 Federal Minister for Education, Science and Training “Excellence Award for Rural and Regional Employers of New Apprentices” for Northern WA.
Indigenous Public Participation – Values and Techniques: Nyaarla Projects has developed and is available to deliver a one-day training course which provides participants with a framework to develop their indigenous public participation/ consultation strategy and delivery techniques. The key focus for the course is on planning for indigenous public participation, the factors to consider and why these factors are important.
